Culture, Language and Identity: Mapping Cultural Tourism in Europe

Forthcoming by JATEPress of the University of Szeged, Hungary

Cultural tourism is not only part of one of the fastest developing industries, but also one through which contemporary cultural realities are created, alliances are established, and identities are constructed. Cultural tourism, therefore, is an industry that has also functioned as an asset through which Europe could be imagined, created, marketed and consumed as a unified cultural space. The cultural diversity within this presumed unity, however, often challenges the perception of a Europe culturally integrated. We invite contributions that investigate unity and diversity, the general and particular, the continental and the local within European cultural tourism. Issues that may be addressed include:

Images should be sent separately in jpg, format, with their place indicated in the text (e.g. Image 1).

Submissions as well as inquiries should be addressed to editor Iren Annus at: iannus [at] lit.u-szeged.hu. Deadline for submissions: March 1, 2013.
