How to register and use the site – for faculty members

Welcome to the new website of the Institute of English & American Studies, University of Szeged. This short article will show you how to enter the password protected area of the new feature of the site: the “Faculty Space”:/faculty-space. This online space will offer a range of services for members of the faculty (faculty news, IC decisions, course offers, etc.), so it is very important to set up your account/profile now.
First, the webmaster will create a preliminary account for you based on your name and email as listed on the “faculty page”:faculty (so, please, check the information you find there!), and the site will generate an arbitrary password that will be sent to your email address. (As it will be an automatically generated password coming from an automatic domain source, please check the spam folder of your email client as well – if the email does not arrive within a day, please contact the webmaster.)

The email content will look like this:

You will see your login name and the randomly generated password, and a link to the administration interface of the site. Click on the link, and you’ll get to the login screen:

Enter the details you were given and enter the site. Upon entry, this is the backend that you can see:

Don’t get intimidated by the interface, just look for the “Admin” tab in the menu towards the top of the site:

When you click on the menu item, it will bring you to a very simple form where you _must change_ your password to something you will remember. (You may also change the email – or come back and change either the password or the email in the future.) Changing the password is very important, it is a serious issue of security.

Once you are ready, you can leave the administration backend of the site and start using the Faculty Space either by clicking on the “View Site” tab, or simply navigating to the address of the website of the Institute. When you are on the front page of the site, scroll down to the footer where you will find the main menu and an extra link – the one to the Faculty Space.

Click on it, and you will see the login form to the password protected area of the site.

Enter your details (your login name from the email and your new password) and click on “Login”. Finally, you enter the Faculty Space:

Please remember to log out every time you finish browsing the pages of the Faculty Space – again, it is a security issue. Whenever you come back, you’ll need to login to the Faculty Space again, but there is no need to log in to the administration interface.
